Terms of Use — EVI

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using EVI (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use (the “Terms”). Do not use the App if you do not agree to these Terms.

2. Description of the service

EVI helps generate and read personalized stories at a reading level. The App is intended as reading support for parents, guardians, children, and education professionals. Features may change as the App continues to develop.

3. No education, diagnosis, or treatment advice

EVI is not a substitute for professional education advice, diagnosis, dyslexia treatment, speech therapy, or medical care. Use the App as a tool and consult a qualified professional when a child has persistent reading difficulties, language difficulties, or other support needs.

4. Use by children

EVI may be used by children, but it is intended to be used under the guidance of a parent, guardian, or education professional. The supervising adult is responsible for the data entered and for reviewing generated stories before using them with children.

5. AI output

EVI uses AI to generate stories, questions, and vocabulary lists.
AI output may contain errors, unsuitable phrasing, or content that does not fully match the intended reading level.
Review generated stories before using them in education, support, or at home.
Do not enter sensitive personal data that is not needed for the story.

6. Accounts, purchases, and subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Billing, renewals, refunds, and cancellations are governed by Apple’s terms.
If a subscription expires, Pro features may pause until the subscription is restored.
You can manage subscriptions through iOS Settings -> Apple ID -> Subscriptions.

7. User content and responsibility

You are responsible for topics, names, preferences, and other content you enter. Do not use the App for unlawful, harmful, discriminatory, misleading, or privacy-sensitive purposes.

9. Data storage and availability

Data is stored on the device. If you enable iCloud sync, EVI can sync your library and settings through Apple’s iCloud services across your own Apple devices. You can turn sync on or off in the app. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free generation, sync without delay, or permanent access to all features. AI providers, Apple services, iCloud, or network connections may be temporarily unavailable.

10. License and restrictions

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on Apple-branded products you own or control, subject to the App Store terms. You may not reverse engineer or circumvent security measures except as permitted by law.

11. Intellectual property

All rights in the App, design, software, and brand remain owned by the publisher or its licensors. Rights to content you enter remain yours. Use of generated stories is allowed for personal, family, or education use as long as it complies with these Terms.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty that content is always accurate, complete, safe, or appropriate. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damages, loss of data, missed learning outcomes, or damage resulting from use of generated content.

13. Termination

We may restrict or stop access to features in cases of misuse, technical necessity, or changes to the service. You may stop using the App at any time.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will be adjusted. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be submitted to the competent Dutch court unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

Is EVI education advice or treatment?
No. EVI is reading support and not a replacement for professional advice or treatment.

Can I use stories in class?
Yes, for normal education use, provided you review the stories first and respect children’s privacy.

How do I cancel my subscription?
Manage or cancel through iOS Settings -> Apple ID -> Subscriptions. Apple handles billing.
