Accessible care & discoverabilitySocial care Prototype

Find support
in your neighbourhood.

With socialekaart.app, I explored how residents and professionals could find health and social care services in Amsterdam. The project concluded as a prototype. I stopped development to focus on my work for MGN Amsterdam.

A look at the concept

Three prototype screens in iPhone mockups, showing the landing page, map and organisations in a selected area. The data and counts belong to this version of the prototype.

Why I made this

Where do you turn when you need support in Amsterdam? With socialekaart.app, I wanted to bring health and social care organisations together on one map. It was intended for residents looking for support and for professionals referring someone or finding a nearby organisation.

The idea was simple: start with the neighbourhood and search from there.

From map to organisation

I built a web prototype using React and Mapbox. The map shows locations in Amsterdam. A list lets you browse organisations in an area, with their addresses and types of care. The design also includes search, filters and an option to save organisations.

I focused on the mobile layout. The screenshots above show the prototype’s landing page, map and results list.

What this prototype shows

The prototype makes the idea tangible: search on a map, then look at an organisation’s details. It explores how that process could work. The project did not establish whether people actually find suitable support faster this way.

Why I stopped

I stopped developing socialekaart.app to focus on my work for MGN Amsterdam. The project remains here as a prototype and an example of my design and development work. No further development is planned.
